Schmetz HAx1 SP Super Stretch Needles - 90/14

The Schmetz Super Stretch ballpoint needle is an excellent alternative to the Stretch needle. It has a special flat shank that allows the needle to be closer to the hook, and the special scarf area design produces a larger needle thread loop that can be easily picked up by the hook. These features prevent skipped stitches even on very elastic fabrics. The reinforced blade and chrome coating cause fewer needle breaks, create straighter stitches, and are more wear-resistant. Additionally, it has a wider and shorter eye and an enlarged groove, allowing it to sew with thicker sewing threads than the Universal or Stretch needle because the threads are under less stress and therefore do not break. It can be used in standard domestic sewing machines using the 130/705 H system, as well as in some overlock machines (see machine manual).
